Art therapy-based psychoeducation

Evidence is mounting that patient education can both increase the effectiveness of psychological therapy interventions by strengthening the therapeutic alliance and be a valid brief intervention in its own right. Psychoeducational approaches which are overly academic or cognitively based can be less effective in situations where learning and attention can be compromised by emotional distress or developmental issues.
