Online Art Therapy Groups

The course will help develop your understanding of offering art therapy groups online. Topics will include delivering art therapy groups online, creating engaging environments, issues and challenges, technical advice, group dynamics and case examples. The course will also include reflective art making and small group discussions on the development of your own online work.

**This course is open to qualified and trainee Art Therapists, and other qualified creative and health professionals from around the world**


Many art therapists are inexperienced with the online format, this is an opportunity to find out more about working online, use of technical tools, learn about benefits and challenges before starting a group, to be in a creative and collaborative space with colleagues, to learn and support each other in this emerging field.


On completion of this course you will be able to:

  • Understand some technology in offering online groups
  • Know how to respond to the challenges of working online
  • Be inspired in suitable contexts to offer online groups
  • Learn about the potential of an online group to be connected, present and embodied, enlivening


Nicky Roland, is an experienced HCPC registered Art Therapist, a trained mindfulness teacher and supervisor. She has several years work experience in the NHS, voluntary sector and in private practice. She has offered one-to-one art therapy and supervision online over the last six years. During the Covid-19 pandemic she started a weekly online art therapy and mindfulness group based on the group she previously ran at the London Art Therapy Centre.
