This workshop presents content for art therapists to consider when creating and maintaining a strong digital presence using social media professionally, ethically, and creatively. Digital boundaries, e-Professionalism, the impact of one’s digital footprint, introduction to ethical frameworks and strategies for promoting a presence online aligning with one’s work, passions, values, and career interests will be examined.

**Open to qualified Art Therapists and Art Therapy Trainees from around the world**

 

This 2 day course will address content such as digital boundaries, e-Professionalism, the impact of one’s digital footprint, introduction to ethical frameworks and strategies for promoting a presence online aligning with ones work, passions, values, and career interests.

 

Content will be explored through didactic lecture, small group discussion, creative experientials, and art making.

 

On completion of this course you will be able to:

  • Recognize three competences for developing an ethical & professional digital presence;

 

  • Learn three strategies for professionally sharing content on social media;

 

  • Identify three ethical frameworks & strategies to consider for professional social media use as a mental health professional.

 

 

Gretchen M. Miller, MA, ATR-BC, ACTP is a Registered Board Certified Art Therapist practicing in Northeast Ohio, United States. Gretchen is the author of The Art Therapist’s Guide to Social Media, inspired by her love of connecting the art therapy community through technology and online experiences over the last 20 years. Gretchen also presents regionally, nationally, and internationally on the application of art therapy and is an adjunct professor. She currently serves on the American Art Therapy Association (AATA) Board of Directors and helped guest edit the 2020 International Journal of Art Therapy (IJAT) Special Issue dedicated to Online Art Therapy.
