Art Therapy is a therapeutic intervention that is frequently used with care experienced children and young people to support them recover from previous traumatic experiences and help them to form stronger attachments to caregivers. This course explores why art therapy is particularly successful with care experienced children and young people with a focus on the principles of delivering attachment and trauma informed practice. The learning outcomes of the course will explore how practitioners meet the needs of care experienced children and young people to deliver quality evidence based interventions which draw on attachment theory, neuroscience and trauma recovery.
