Creative Discoveries: Learning Disabilities Conference on Coin Street
08 November 2016
The British Association of Art Therapists (BAAT) is delighted to have been working with Coin Street Community Builders to provide a fitting venue for such an exciting Arts Therapies conference.
We are looking forward to welcoming delegates to the Creative Discoveries: Learning Disabilities Conference on 23rd November. The Creative Discoveries Conference offers a unique opportunity to explore the impact of the Arts Therapies and creative approaches being used in the UK with people who have learning disabilities.
Thirty years ago, the South Bank area of London was bleak, unattractive, had few shops and restaurants, had a dying residential community and a weak local economy. Local residents mounted an extraordinary campaign leading to the purchase of 13 acres of derelict land, since developed into a thriving neighbourhood.
Coin Street Community Builders was set up following the campaign, with long term aims to make the area a better one in which to live, to work, and to visit. The Coin Street Conference Centre is located minutes from Waterloo station.
We look forward to welcoming service users with first-hand experience of arts therapies learning disabilities services, delegates, national leaders in politics and health, academics, and arts therapists to the Creative Discoveries Conference at Coin Street Conference Centre on the 23rd of November 2016!
