Introducing Dr Patricia Watts, BAAT Professional Officer for Scotland

19 January 2017

The British Association of Art Therapists (BAAT) is delighted to have recently appointed Dr Patricia Watts as the first ever BAAT Professional Officer for Scotland! We asked Patricia to say a few words to introduce herself...

'My name is Patricia Watts and I have recently been appointed as the Professional Officer for Scotland for the British Association of Art Therapists.  Having previously been a regional coordinator and the Scottish representative for BAAT, I am excited to be taking on this new role.

It will be a privilege to work alongside the Scottish membership and BAAT council to represent the profession at a strategic level in Scotland.

In addition to working for BAAT, I am also a practitioner in the voluntary sector working with children and young people affected by chronic illness and leading a team in a kinship care service.  I recently completed a professional doctorate and my research explored what art therapists notice about the impact of poverty on therapeutic sessions with children and young living in areas of multiple deprivation in Scotland'.
