Payment by Results
This new government policy is at present mainly targeting physical care. However, there are plans to use this method of commissioning in Mental Health as well. With another colleague, I am now representing the Allied Health Professions on the Mental Health Advisory Group, and no doubt this issue will be closely followed there.
In the meantime, the Physiotherapists have produced a guide to what "payment by results" is, and have kindly offered to share this with all their AHP colleagues. So if "payment by results" is being talked about in your organisation, do download this information.
