Organisational Consultancy - an Art Therapy Approach
The BAAT Council has agreed to support a pilot project which aims to develop a new and distinct method of working with teams and organisations. The skills and thinking behind art therapy and organisational consultancy will be used together to form an approach in which image-making will be an intrinsic part of the process.
The project will run for a year and will be followed by a report to Council. It will be steered by Tobias Arnup, Val Huet and Tim Wright who are all experienced Art Therapists and qualified Organisational Consultants. They will offer consultation days for teams and role consultation for individual clients. As this is part of a pilot project, this service will initially be available at reduced fees for Arts Therapists and public and voluntary sector organisations. It will also affect availability which may be limited. Potential benefits to the BAAT and its members will be to:
- Pioneer and influence a new way thinking and a new area of practice into which Art Therapy can develop.
- Provide help with team or organisational issues, using the distinctive qualities of an art therapy approach.
- Broaden the profile of Art Therapy by offering a service to those in the public and private sector that may have limited previous experience of our profession.
- Open up new career opportunities for Art Therapists.
- Generate a new stream of income for BAAT.
If you or your team may be interested in using this service, please contact Val Huet val@baat.org to discuss this further.
