Simon Richardson

BAAT Council Member 2007 - 2008

Biographical notes

I did my PG Dip Art Therapy training at the University of Hertfordshire (1993-1994) and subsequently a Research MA, also at UH (1994-1995). I have been a joint Regional Co-ordinator for Region 4, and continue to attend both the Meetings and Painting Group held in Region 4 on a regular basis. Since 1999, I have been a member of the Newsbriefing editorial team, and have represented Newsbriefing at BAAT Council both as a co-opted and elected member. I have been involved with the Art Therapists working with Autism BAAT sub-group, and also with the now defunct Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Arts Therapists Network. I am the representative for Newsbriefing on the BAAT Equalities Steering Group.

I want to use my position to advocate the improvement of employment and career prospects for all BAAT members, not just those working in the NHS. I shall also continue with my work on Newsbriefing.
