Programme Information:

This programme will be suitable for those working in health, education, counselling, community and social care settings. The overarching aim of the programme is to enable practitioners to have the higher level knowledge, skills and behaviours that will establish them at the forefront of art therapy within a contemporary setting:

  • to offer continuing professional development for practitioners who wish to have knowledge and understanding of art therapy and the therapeutic application of art
  • to facilitate the development towards becoming an art therapist, who will be fit for practice, fit for purpose and fit for award.

As such this course will be of interest to graduates with an art, educational or health and social care background and psychology background. It is the only course in the North West region that takes its focus on Art Therapy. It will promote inter-professional attention by being open to graduates from an art background,educational, and health and social care backgrounds.

Exploring ways of shaping and expressing anger using music, painting and sculpting as a means for developing a different relationship to anger.

September
Transpersonal Arts in Therapy Validated by City & Guilds at Masters Levels (MCGI level 7) This course consists of either a two year full-time course or a four year modular option. All applicants will be interviewed and assessed.
