Amicus is now receiving numerous reports expressing concern about abuses of consistency checking. The procedure for consistency checking is detailed on pages 66-68 of the printed version of the Job Evaluation Handbook (2nd Edition) - please see the document below - 'Consistency checking guidance'. The following job description and person specification is for an art therapists who has now been banded at 8d as a consultant art therapist:

Please note the position is that AFC has superceded all other agreements on the gaining of the status of Consultant. The title should only be used if matched to the Consultant profile and not to the other 8c/d profile.
The following job descriptions may be useful for anybody currently being banded or for those who have been banded at 6 and are going for a review.

A number of Employers are stating that postholders need management approval before seeking a review of your Agenda for Change outcome. This is not true and there is nothing in the national agreement and procedures which states that this is the case. If this happens with your employer please raise this immediately with your Amicus rep/regional officer.
